HopePlus Initiative is a Volunteer driven Charity/Non-profit Organization officially launched in 2017 celebrating Christ, growing and multiplying, reaching out to those around us with Christ's love. And we operate in Uganda, East Africa 🌍
As a charity organization, HopePlus Initiative is dedicated to community empowerment and meaningful Participation in Society Change. And since our launch in 2017, the team at HopePlus Initiative has worked tirelessly to promote our cause.
We are fortunate to have volunteers and staff from all walks of life who bring their unique expertise and resources into everything we do. This is what enables us to achieve our goals year after year. While there is always more that can be done, there is no doubt that we are making a significant impact. We don’t measure our success through just facts and figures, but through happy faces and heartwarming feedback.

Recognizing the enormity of the challenges many underprivileged communities face, HopePlus Initiative is dedicated to making a lasting impact.
While our efforts are driven by our organization’s focus and on our Core values of Integrity, Team work, Community Participation, Hospitality, Transparency and Accountability, we look forward to spreading a wide net by investing in a variety of developmental programs.
HopePlus Initiative provides a platform for collective action and voice of the vulnerable and less privileged people to strongly advocate for a descent livelihood and human rights protection irrespective of physical, social, racial and religious differences.

As a charity organization, we aim to playing a significant role in improving and standardizing the education sector and ensuring that local needs and priorities come first. ✓ Homeless Outreach
Feeling like there are countless pressing issues that no single program could make a marked difference on matters concerning and resulting into Homelessness, HopePlus Initiative has stepped to addressing this issue.
Due to a number of causes to this issue; poverty, high mortality rates, parental abandonment and neglect, unemployment, many children are vulnerable to homelessness.
Uganda records a reasonable number of homeless and street children, and it's for organization like us to step up and combat these issues.
Our Homeless Outreach program has proven to be a powerful tool for HopePlus Initiative to successfully serve our community and improve countless lives. Learn more about how we are conducting this program together by contacting us.
We managed to draft a 'Land Proposal plus a Construction budget for the Children's Home(s)' for the proper implementation of this program in communities we serve.
✓ Girl Child Empowerment
Our goal is to promote equal rights and great opportunities for girls in all walks of life and standardizing their livelihood.
In most African societies, girls are denied access to descent livelihood, education, production, economic development and transformation, leadership, parenthood, yet they too can make a great impact in transforming Change.
Help us in aiding fellow Sisters with essentials, skills, humanrights awareness, education, feminist products, extra. They can become empowered by their own abilities and gain confidence to fulfill their potential in this changing and challenging world.

✓ Clean and Safe Water Provision and Extension.
We see every challenge as an opportunity, and our Clean and Safe Water Provision and Extension program helps HopePlus Initiative ensure that communities, families and children we serve together have adquate access to clean and Safe water.
Uganda registers a bigger number of vulnerable communities and families that have limited access to Clean and Safe water as well as limited access to improved water collection points.
This puts many people's lives in danger of covering longer distances to collect clean water and extremely higher chances of acquiring water-borne diseases like typhoid, cholera, bilharzia, diarrhoea, dysentery and death.
We are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue; by extending clean water collection points in many communities, constructing boreholes, rehabilitating community wells and extending piped water to individual deprived families.
All this is by no means an easy feat, but with your co-operation, partnership and support, we strongly we can facilitate progress in this area.

AFRICA’S GREATEST RESOURCE IS HER WOMEN, EMPOWERED
The harsh reality is that many women in Africa have been left to bear the brunt of war, poverty and disease. Millions of our sisters have been abandoned and robbed of all dignity. Uneducated and unemployable, they are left to suffer alone.
But together, we can change this by providing adult literacy classes, discipleship, business skills training and job opportunities. As we embrace these women with God’s love, they find hope and purpose.

2. From Idea to Reality: The Evolution of HopePlus Initiative
What started as a thought in the team's heads, a goal in our journal and years of research, our dream of establishing HopePlus Initiative finally came to life in 2017.
And since March, 2017, we have encountered numerous challenges within this journey, all the mental and physical exhaustions but Father God has been too good to us that amidst all the financial and transformational challenges, we have been able to prove strong, committed and dedicated to serving our local communities.

Am Ssuubi Nicholas, CEO and Founder, HopePlus Initiative a volunteer driven Charity organization celebrating Christ, growing and multiplying reaching out to those around us with Christ's love.
It's such a great honor to be of good importance to the society and to contribute towards 'descent livelihood and humanrights' advocacy in Uganda.
Being among the world's least countries, Uganda's living conditions are hazardous for vulnerable children and families due to poverty, high mortality rates, unemployment, abandonment leaving many children vulnerable to crime, disease, trafficking and neglegency. Hence, I started HopePlus Initiative as a Safe Haven.
I'm so inspired by every person who joins our HopePlus Initiative Family! I know through my own life journey from apathy to action that profoundly contributing to nonprofits is not easy, but it is key in making an everlasting impact in lives of many beneficiaries.

4. Our Vision Of Sustainability
We have a vision to be self-sustaining as an organisation, and to nurture the children in our care into self-reliant and responsible members of society.
Made in God’s image, human beings have, as an essential part of their existence, a divinely-ordained identity as God’s stewards (Genesis 1:17, 2:15). We are responsible to be wise stewards of everything God has blessed us with (Luke 12:41-48). We believe that living by principles of wise stewardship holds the key to a prosperous and sustainable future.
At HopePlus Initiative, our vision of sustainability is constantly growing, individually and corporately. It is tied not only to principles of biblical stewardship but also to our desire to be the light and salt of God's Kingdom influence in our community (Matthew 5:13-16). This vision concerns the operation of HopePlus Initiative in every ministry activity we are involved in. We focus on equipping the children in our care with vibrant ideas by developing their skills in vocations, academics and leadership to become future job-makers NOT job-seekers.
We hope to foster in them the skills necessary to break out of the conditions that have kept so many trapped in poverty for so long. Meaningful work brings dignity to peoples' lives. We believe that our children have a crucial role to play in continuing to build the nation of Uganda while raising standards of stewardship within their own circles of influence.
As an organisation we are developing independent sustainable income streams locally to support the work of the ministry. In-house projects, such as the Farm, are ways that we are taking steps to ensure a self-sufficient future without having to rely on others giving to the ministry.

1. How much of my donation directly supports the cause?
Outstanding stewardship is more than a priority for us at HopePlus Initiative. We’re committed to investing 100% of your donations (minus charges) received into the sponsorship program into front-line ministry that directly benefits children and the community (s) as a whole.
Our desire is to be an organisation worthy of your trust. We are committed to integrity not just in our work with vulnerables, but also in how we handle your tax-deductible donations.

Our holistic care program provides life-sustaining needs and quality education to vulnerable children living in Uganda.
4. How are we different?
HopePlus Initiative does project implementation differently to other charities and organisations, because we value relationship first. Our 6 years of experience of helping children in need has taught us that child sponsorship is both a practical and worthwhile way of helping to bring transformation to their lives.
Our holistic approach to care means that when a child comes to us, they walk into family, not an institution. Our HopePlus Initiative family loves, nurtures and cares for them.
We provide safe, Christ-centred education from early-childhood to higher education to ensure that these children are groomed into responsible citizens. The biggest % of sponsorship money goes to education support because it equips and empowers children to break out of the cycle of poverty. We support extracurricular activities in sports, music, dance to ensure that children live a happy and healthy life.
We’re focused on improving a child’s life in the long term at the same time as protecting the relationship between you and your sponsored child to not encourage dependency. Sponsorship is the start of an amazing friendship. We encourage healthy communication and care through online correspondence, letter writing, photo-sharing and praying for one another.
We regard the relationship between sponsor and sponsored child as partnership. Partnership isn't a one-time event. It's a growing, thriving commitment to meaningful relationship. We explain to the sponsored child that they are acting as ambassadors for their fellow children. We explain that people from all over the world want to help them and that they have one friend in particular who they are linked to.
It is our hope that by writing to one another, the sponsor and sponsored child will get to know about each other’s lives.

Your long term support through sponsorship can change everything for a child in need. It equips them for a self-reliant future.
5. Where does my Sponsorship money go?
We combine together all sponsorship money and distribute it according to the needs of all the vulnerable children in our care and community. We believe that all children deserve to be treated equally when it comes to provision of basic needs, healthcare and educational opportunities.
6. How Does it work and all it Takes?
When you sponsor a child, we combine your sponsorship money with money from other sponsors and provide ALL the necessary benefits to ALL the vulnerable children in our care and community in a family atmosphere so no one is left out.
We ask for £40 or $50 (US) a month so that we can provide the best and lasting support to children that benefit from your sponsorship.
7. How long will my Sponsorship last?
There is no set period for sponsorship to last and no minimum requirement, but lasting change doesn’t happen overnight. The idea is that a sponsor will see a child through their early and formative years and help them grow up. This means making a long-term commitment to a child.
You can continue to sponsor your child up until they finish their formal education, sometimes beyond the age of 18 years.
There are occasions when sponsorship ends earlier than expected. This can be due to a number of reasons, such as the child leaving the area. If this happens, we ask our sponsors if they would like to continue sponsoring a new child.
8. What happens if I want to/stop my Sponsorship?
You can end your sponsorship at any time, for any reason, without causing harm to your sponsored project because of the way we run the program. Your beneficiaries will continue to benefit from all that "we" HopePlus Initiative have to offer whether or not they are sponsored.
9. Can I visit my Sponsored projects and send gift-in-kind donations as well?
YES! Visiting your sponsored project and our on-ground activities can be a transformative experience and the best way to see how your support is making a difference.
Meeting the staff who turn your support into life-changing work can be so rewarding. We encourage you to see our work first hand.
We can’t cover the cost of your visit but our staff will help you make the arrangements to meet your sponsored program.
